In recent years, mRNA-vaccine technology has seen significant advances
in the prophylaxis against many diseases. Today, after the emergence of
COVID-19 and the use of mRNA vaccines as prophylactic vaccines to
prevent the spread of the disease and control the pandemic, data
collected over the last 2 years has shown that the mRNA vaccine will
become a leading technology as it is potent, inexpensive, rapidly
developed and safe. This review will present an overview of mRNA
vaccines and give an update related to their safety and efficacy against
COVID-19.
