Preregistration of Studies and Analysis Plans [Exceeds current journal requirements]
  1. Authors declare this work preregistered with a statistical analysis plan in an independent, institutional registry (e.g. http://clinicaltrials.gov/, http://socialscienceregistry.org/, http://openscienceframework.org/, http://egap.org/design-registration/, http://ridie.3ieimpact.org/).
  2. Authors declare certification of the preregistration
  3. Clearly distinguish in text analyses that were preregistered from those that were not, such as having separate sections in the results for confirmatory and exploratory analyses.
Replication [Exceeds current journal requirements]
While GGN does not currently undertake peer review ofRegistered Reports for single unreplicated experiments, since we do not believe that even the best peer reviewed experimental design can overcome sources of variation among studies, the policy of the journal is to encourage submission of experimental designs that contain their own replication. We also encourage studies replicating or powered to replicate work published in this journal.
  1. Report contains both hypothesis generation and replication in separate studies
  2. Report contains an unreplicated study, but could be reviewed for its study design with a view to guaranteeing publication provided a replication is undertaken, either in a fresh study or by collaboration, regardless of positive or neutral outcome.
