Dr. Connie Cortes, an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Duke University, is guest editing a special issue for the Journal of Neuroscience Research (JNR), to be made up of primary investigators and/or lead authors who are women. This issue, scheduled to come out on next year’s International Women’s Day (March 8th, 2020), is meant to highlight the abundance of stellar female neuroscientists, and take advantage of the fast, peer-review system already in place at JNR. It also follows JNR’s previously published and highly successful issue on sex/gender influences on nervous system function.Types of Submissions: We invite you submit new research manuscripts, reviews or mini-reviews on your field of interest. Research articles must follow the journals rigorous standards of transparency and rigor as described in the Author Guidelines. We would also like to include a perspective of your career and advice you can give to the next generation of women in neuroscience. Manuscript Submission Deadline: October 15, 2019 Due to our firm March 8th publication deadline, this submission deadline will have very limited flexibility. Manuscripts accepted after peer review will have color fees waived and the issue will be made freely available upon publication.  If you are interested in being a part of this groundbreaking issue, please contact Dr. Connie Cortes (Constanza.cortes@duke.edu) by April 30, 2019. Additionally, if you know of any researchers in your network who may be interested in participating, please feel free to forward this invitation to them.
