In recent years, the aging of the Japanese population has become increasingly severe. Moreover, the shortening of working life has presented additional difficulties. Therefore, we specifically examined people whose upper-limb muscular strength has declined and who can no longer eat meals without assistance. For them, we developed support device for meal support functions that performs meal support operation using electromyogram (EMG). This article describes the meal support function of the pneumatically driven upper limb support device we developed.
