Abstract.

The following work is based on the application of the cellular system model to the neural network of the brain, specifically, the memory storing network. This analogy is drawn to obtain a closed form expression for memory retrieval with respect to the serial recall paradigm. Currently, models that can explain this phenomena tend to lie between two extremes- either being biologically meaningful and being able to give no explanations for observed phenomena, or being cognitively sound but not generalizable to data, involving many free parameters and relying on shaky biophysical grounds. In this paper, I show how my model contributes to both these ends by essentially not focussing on either one in particular.
