The importance of discrete mathematics is often underestimated. It is often seen as a stand-alone course at the college level, but could be of great benefit to all students if integrated into the standard high school math series. The real-life application of discrete mathematics is appealing to students and will keep the classes engaging and purposeful. A higher-level thinking is involved and would allow for natural differentiation and fun, hands-on activities throughout the math curriculum that is sometimes tedious, losing the attention of many students.
