Now on with the challenge!
Representation in comics is as important as it is often overlooked, or, all to often, just handled horribly.
There is much talk in the community about how the representation of LGBTQ, and other, people in comics is often forced, gimmicky, exploitative, rushed or just, we'll... bad. Quick changes to characters or introductions of new ones without depth or forethought is not sustainable... and ultimately is more offensive then supportive to those they supposedly seek to represent.
However, there are also times when a creative team actually gets it right.
Write about a comic character whose coming out as LGBTQ was handled well... what made it so positive?
&/or
How do you think LGBTQ characters should be handled in comics? What are the elements that make a proper reveal/ introduction/ coming out story?
