Suleiman M. Baraka holds a Ph.D. in Magnetospheric and Astrophysics from the Sorbonne University, Paris France. He has over 20 years of professional experience in Kinetic Modeling (Particle-In-Cell (PIC) EM 3D Global Simulation) of space and astrophysical plasmas. He is currently a Senior Research Scientist at the National Institute of Aerospace, USA. He is also a Researcher at the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Calgary. Suleiman is collaborating with the Department of Physics at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB on the lunar wake kinetic Simulation. In his Ph.D. research, he used PIC code to study the interaction between the Solar Wind and the Earth's Magnetosphere. Suleiman's primary work and research interests are Astrophysics and Space Plasma Kinetic Simulation. His ongoing research now focus on dayside magnetopause response to different IMF orientations under varying solar wind conditions. Suleiman developed a new technique to derive the equatorial plane magnetopause shape in spherical polar coordinates for the Earth and any magnetized planet in the solar system. He coauthors kinetic simulation for exoplanets that orbit their parent stars from within the corona. Suleiman is currently finalizing two papers on moon science. The first is related to the solar wind magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling, where he is tracking Oxygen and Hydrogen ions of ionospheric origin in 3D in the magnetosphere up to the lunar surface.
