Her scientific work on collective control through social fluid exchange in ants and bees from the University of Lausanne has been written about by Science, Nature, Wired, the Boston Globe and many other publications. This project itself spanned proteomics, bioinformatics, molecular biology, protein biochemistry, insect endocrinology, pharmacology, and complex automated behavioral analysis.
Adria is the founder of The Catalyst (www.thecatalyst.ch), a cross-disciplinary group of scientists working to improve communication skills and to create new science-driven media (most recently, exposurehackathon.com).
Adria is an adjunct lecturer at the HEC-University of Lausanne, where she teaches presentation skills to PhD students. Adria was highly involved in TEDxLausanne, as a curator and speaker coach from late 2012 through the 2016 event. In this capacity, she has coached many speakers including professors and business leaders from IMD, UNIL, UniNe, HEC, and the Weizmann Institute, one of whom went on to speak at TEDGlobal. Adria has taught workshops in combining science and storytelling at UNIL, the Lift conference and at CERN.
