1. Determining the effective values of the core refractive index neff and of the cladding refractive index of the possible propagation modes       , among other optical fiber parameters such core confinement factor variations with wave-length of the light propagating through the optic fiber core.
  2. Defining the Phase - Matching curves which represent the resonance condition and which relates the wavelength of the peak absorption bands to the grating period.
  3. The evaluation of FWHM bandwidth and of the strength of the absorption peaks observed in the LPGFS.
  4. Evaluating the inflexion points existing on the curves obtained at step 2.
