Abstract

This paper reports a layout modification using a tool for the automation of yield and calculation of the critical area. The approach is based on calculating the actual area of the design which is most sensitive to defects. This requires an analytical expressions relating layout geometries to likelihood of shorts and opens. Parasitcs elements are related with this geometries to do the mathematical estimation of the sensibility to defects. The paper describes all these steps as future implemented on Cadence.
