Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of turbulence modeling on the flow field and on the performance of supersonic air intake at designed Mach number. Various turbulence models have been simulated. Ansys is used as a commercial tool. A detailed comparison of all the turbulence models is tabulated in the form of key parameters. Results suggested that the selection of turbulence models is an important factor to capture the flow physics inside the mixed compression supersonic air intake. Obtained computational results have been compared with experimental (reference) results.
