Abstract

This paper deals with an inverse problem for identification the leading coefficient function from the final state observation in a two-dimensional hyperbolic problem. Since such inverse problems are ill-posed, the study focused on finding a regularized solution. The regularized solution is obtained by using the Levenberg-Marquardt method in nonlinear least squares optimization. It has been observed with numerical tests that the obtained results are quite successful.
