Abstract
A graphical and speculative rendition of a powerful virtual environment,
the Metaverse asserts that it is a trustworthy setting where people can
work, play, shop, and socialise. The potential for leveraging the
Metaverse for growth and revenue generation is significant. The aim of
this perspective article is to highlight and introduce: metaverse
revenue streams; a Web 3.0 base for economic interoperability; an
embodied virtual reality experience; and a platform for innovative
experiences. Additionally, it will deal with correcting current and
foreseeable security vulnerabilities in the metaverse and, ideally,
generate revenue doing so. We explore a wide range of examples and
suggest how these initiatives might be implemented properly in order to
be competitively successful in this rapidly evolving environment. Child
limitations, women’s safety, and introducing the metaverse to older
citizens are a few of the topics discussed in detail. Finally, we
provide an overview of the unfolding of possibilities and point out
methods that have not traditionally been explored.
