Narrow-Focus-Width Circular Airy Beam with Emission Angle for Microwave
Near-Field Applications
Abstract
Focusing properties―especially the focus width―of circular airy beams
(CABs) with emission angles are investigated for microwave near-field
applications. The CABs are described as the solutions of the para-axial
wave equation which are numerically solved. The suggested CAB can
produce a narrow focal point with a 3-dB-width of 0.23λ and requires a
relatively small phase shift in the aperture. The results are verified
by a theoretical model for antenna arrays composed of half-wavelength
unit cells.
