We report a case of hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis associated with
acute myeloid leukemia. The usual etiologies of hemophagocytic
lymphohistiocytosis were absent. Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis
secondary to acute myeloid leukemia is rare and deserves the attention
of clinicians. Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis may be masked by the
tumour process, often making the diagnosis difficult.
