Abstract

Gastro-intestinal Stromal Tumors (GISTs), soft tissue sarcomas of the gastrointestinal tract, represent the most frequent malignant gastrointestinal tumors of the subepithelial lesions (SELs) and of mesenchymal gastrointestinal tract. The size of the tumour and its mitotic activity were initially used as risk indicators in determining the prognosis.
