Abstract

A 72-year-old woman with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction underwent percutaneous coronary intervention to the single obtuse marginal branch of the left circumflex artery. She subsequently developed fever, elevated inflammatory markers with non-infectious causes, and acute papillary muscle rupture, leading to cardiogenic shock, successfully treated with surgical mitral valve replacement.
