Abstract

There is no definitive animal HBV reservoir for transmission to humans. We reported a case of 48-year-old male with acute liver failure due to acute hepatitis B infection and considered the possibility of concomitant zoonotic hepatitis E (HEV) infection to explain the severity of his presentation.
