Stability Analysis on Daphnia Population Model with Size-Structured and
Delayed Birth Process
AbstractIn this paper, we investigate a size-structured population dynamics
model of Daphnia coupled with an unstructured algal food source, where
there is a maturation delay in the birth process. Our research focuses
on the stability properties of stationary solutions, especially the
impact of maturation delay on the asymptotic behavior of system. The
existence of the stationary solutions are discussed, and the linear
stability results under some biologically conditions are investigated by
means of the semigroup theory and the characteristic equation technique.
Numerical simulations are performed to verify the theoretical results
and display the different impacts of delay in several examples.
