Abstract
A 77-year-old female patient was taken to surgery for correction of
complete rectal prolapse. On the first postoperative day the patient
presented severe generalized abdominal pain, with no other symptoms. l.
An abdominal CT scan was performed, which showed pneumoperitoneum and
air near the coloanal anastomosis
