Trend Analysis and Long-Term Spatio-Temporal Variability of Annual and
Seasonal Rainfall Using Innovative Trend Analysis and Mann-Kendall
Approaches Over Tumakuru District, Karnataka
Abstract
Global warming has affected and continuously changed the
hydrometeorological variables such as Rainfall, temperature, and
humidity. The present research has focused on the long-term trend of
spatio-temporal pattern of rainfall using Mann-Kendall (MK) and
innovative trend analysis (ITA), which is the most preferable task for
climate change monitoring caused by global warming. The comparative
analysis has been performed for eleven meteorological stations of
Tumakuru district, India during the year 1952-2019, which reveals the
sensitivity of ITA to hidden trends than the classical approach and its
reliability towards the mitigation of water-related issues,
meteorological drought, and flood management.
